Shortlisted by Dougal Wilson: A Milestone Moment for Primavera Tango
We are happy to share a milestone that marks a new chapter in our journey as tango artists & visual storytellers.
Recently, we were honoured to be shortlisted by acclaimed director Dougal Wilson for a role in one of his upcoming productions. Out of countless applicants, we made it through three rounds of interviews & were personally selected for consideration by Dougal himself, a creative force known for shaping some of the most iconic visuals in contemporary media.
If you are not already familiar with his name, Dougal Stewart Wilson is the visionary behind the beloved John Lewis Christmas adverts, the Grammy-nominated "Life in Technicolor II" by Coldplay & most recently, the feature film Paddington in Peru (2024) the third installment in the much-loved Paddington bear franchise.
To be recognised by a director of his caliber, especially one making his feature debut in such an iconic series, is something we don’t take lightly. Although we were not cast in the final production, the experience affirmed something we have long hoped: that there’s a meaningful place for tango & the kind of work we are passionate about, within the world of cinematic storytelling.
We are more motivated than ever to keep blending dance & visual art in bold, genre-defying ways. This moment reminded us that with persistence, vision & a little magic, doors do open, even if just a crack & sometimes, just getting through that crack is enough to change everything.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this path. We will keep dreaming big & dancing even bigger.
